Well I bought a 2002 R6 with a bad engine on the cheap for a project.
It was hideous. Whoever decided on the color scheme of this bike should never be allowed to make decisions again.

Before tear down.

And this is where I am as of today.

Got a little bit more done today. All I need to do is throw a battery in it, oil, and gas then see if she starts.
Needs a few odds and end parts that I will have to source on ebay before I can wrap it up completely though.

Nice. Keep up the good work. I'm doing the same thing right now with a wrecked 2002. Getting ready to pull the engine today and put it in a new frame. The original frame is bent and cracked.

Take a lot of pictures.
I forgot which way all the bolts and adjusters went in when I reassembled.

Engine fired up without issue and ran like new.
Wasn't able to shift through the gears yet though.

Got a few more things mounted today
Carbs
Air box
Ram Air
Headlight
Upper
Windscreen
Fixed the rest of the wiring harness
Hugger
Front sprocket
Clutch lever / Cable
Brake lines (Still need to bleed).

I am getting to the point now that I am looking for odd and end parts.
I basically dumped out three huge totes of parts today and started scrounging through them.
The garage is a disaster again.
