just got a new leather teknic jacket for the short florida winter and was thinking about scotchguarding it for when it rains. also so the bugs wont stick to so easy. has anyone else done this or am i just being anal.

i never heard of using scotchgaurd on leather. i just use lexol or something for leather saddles found in some farm supply stores. kiwi brand saddle soap is good also for those bug marks.

are those soaps also used to protect leather for storage? or there are other materials out there?

I have been thinkin about buying Leatherguard after reading a good review on a motorcycle site. Check out http://www.liquiguard.com/leatherguard.htm . I am also about to start riding now that its not so damn hot but the bugs are horrible. That reminds me, I gotta clean my jacket when I get home.

Dont most jackets come pre coated with something on them?
