Skyline Drive ... what a ride!

Hey everybody. I got some pics developed from my ride down Skyline Drive in Virginia last weekend.

For those unfamiliar with it, Skyline Drive is 100 miles of paradise running through Shenandoah National Park. I hit the road with three of my friends and we stopped and camped on the Appalachian Trail... it was an AWESOME ride. We will positively do it again... the dude on the Hog also rides a GSXR600 which he has vowed to bring next trip, and he can RIDE... he was rippin up the twisties on that Electraglide pretty handily. If anybody is interested, I'll post up when we will be doing it again

All decked out and ready to go

Overlooking the piedmont

Yup, that's my rear tire sliiiiightly impinging on a handicapped space... i'm such a badass

Stopping to fill up on my way to Virginia (I will never use Sheets gas again) :gas

This guy is NUTS!!!

Nice pics and ya tell me next time you head up and I'll show y'all some other roads nearby...
That sounds like a ton of fun. Let us (me) know next time, I would love to do a trip like that.

Looks like a lot of fun.
Hey VD, where in VA is this? My folks live down on the cheasapeake and in Sept, I'll be down there for the races at VIR. Just wanna see where it is in relation to everything so that I might give Skyline Drive a try either solo or if anyone is around in sept, y'all can join in!
Looks like a really nice ride, I went up through the smokie national park this last weekend with some of my friends. Nice twisties, but Id like to ride out in the rockies or in nevada area.

Hey Pen,

its on the other side of the state dude. Winchester/Charlottesville area. It would be a haul from your folks place. If you are ever in the area though, its worth the five bucks it costs to get in... kinda like your mom :idhitit
nice ride im sure, makes me wanna go somewhere like that with my bike one of these days. :cheers
Man. The pictures bring back memories. I used to drive through the national park when I used to live in Virgina. I like to go around late October to see all the leaves turn orange. I guess that would not be a good time to go with a bike just because you may slip on all those leaves.

Anyway, too bad I didn't have a bike while living in Va. Now I am in S. Diego, too bad.

Just came back from visiting a buddy in Daygo...MUCH BETTER ROADS 'round yer ways bub! I should be the one complaining! and I am
Yeah. You just have to know where to go. I just moved to SD so I haven't found any nice place to ride yet but I was very family with Skyline Drive.
