aloha, i am planning on purchasing a new 03 R6 in a few weeks. i read alot about aftermarket exhausts and other accessories on this site. i have a few questions i hope you guys could answer.

i was planning on purchasing the high mount Devil slip on exhaust.

if i install this item will i have to remap the computer?

if so what is the best method? Powercommander?

should i wait until the engine is broken in, before installing the exhaust?

actually what is the milage of a broken in engine? 1000 miles?

i hoping you riders out there could help me out.

No need to remap but it wouldn't hurt. There are alot of maps out there for the Powercommander for all kinds of set-ups, so I don't think it's a bad choice. As for waiting until it's broken, doesn't make a difference. Break in is complete after 1,000 miles.

Jasambs got the devil pipe and the slower blue color. I have the teflon coated silver paint on mine that make its it almost totally wind resistant and there for faster. Not to mention also the better looking pipe....

Oh, and the devil SB2 will tuck up closer to the body for the 03 models than the previous models. these devil pipes do sound pimp as hell though.

this be mine.......

this be his.........

Cliff, that looks sick! And thats how the pipe tucks up closer to the tail of the bike on the 03 than the previous years, although both look :boob .

2001 R1 with the SB2

2000 R6 with the SB2

not the best quality vids but its the only ones I found. suffice it to say they sound far better in person. they are like the blue flames in that they are loud and deep enough to resonate in your chest cavity at certain rpm's........

thanks for the compliment pen, but the wierd thing is i placed my order to hammy the day before he posted the new blue flame can. now that new blue flame can looks wicked. i am happy with my devil, since no one here on maui has a devil. at least i could be the first. i guess the game here on maui is to be different.

RIGHT ON STONE!!!! now that looks sick as hell, despite how I don't like high and undertail mounts. Too bad we can't ride for one last time this weekend since I have to ship my baby out this Froday for the Big Island. I sure am gonna miss the twisties of Haleakala crater, cuz you know... no where else on the Hawaiian chain will that ride up there ever compare to. I have been scouting out the roads on the big island and there pretty much long sweepers and miles of straight aways, if you know of certain places over there you need to let me know. Aloha Bra.... Hey the good thing is it's one less R6 w/ a flame job on MAui. LOL

hey wussup, i wanted the highmount because no one else had one. i seen another black w/red flames with a micron high mount a few weeks ago. as for riding on the big island, you need to check out saddle road. its the road going to one of those volcanos there. from what i hear it has been repaved a few years ago. a few years ago i attempted to take that road coming from kona trying to go to hilo. rent-a-car companies frown on that idea. you will like the twisties and elevation changes. its something like going to the crater. much mahalos for your help with my bike.
