Bought the bike last yr and it came with the stock qualifiers. I had about 5 trackdays with them this yr 2 in novice and 3 in intermediate group. Now it needs to be replaced. Had plenty of grip and no problem with them. you will be fine until you start moving up the group and your pace increases. By that time tires will need to be replaced anyway. How well will the Dunlops hold up at the track. Do I HAVE to get a different set if I want to go to the track or will the stocks hold up okay?
Thanks for info.
Going from a stock qualifiers and going to a race dot bt002pro are obviously going to be night and day. i mean come on one is a Race DOT which they will actually use in a race and the other a Daily street tire that you can get plenty of miles with. The profile on those race dot makes the bike tip in more and the grip is INSANE. As for the price. BT002RS(racing streets) can be had for $239 shipped. BT003 are over $300 easy and damn near 4 bills.I hate to disagree, but I did not feel that the stock qualifiers on my 08 were good at all. I was disappointed in the feel and grip and ended up mounting some Bridgestone BT-002r (Dot race tires) instead and was MUCH happier at the track. They are not much more expensive than stock replacements either, but they dont last as long either. My advice would be to put better rubber on if you can afford to, or take it a little easier if you cant. My bridgestones had me out of the novice group and up near the top of the intermediate group by the end of my first track day, dragging knees on boths sides. Confidence in your rubber is priceless (on more than just the track :hump )
