So VA has a Hurricane Prepardness tax exempt week and ratchet tie-downs are included....yea!

I bought a generic set from Walmart with a load weight of 300 lbs and a break weight of 900 lbs. Is that enough?

I only ask because the sets I've barrowed in the past have been thicker than these, but the numbers (300 lbs) seem like they'll do the job.

I would go thicker, the 300lb should be OK but when the bike is bouncing in a truck or on a trailer there is a lot of momentum and you could instantaneously exceed the 900lb. I think the ones I have are 1500lb break strength. I have used the Wally World 4 pack tie downs on bikes before and not had a problem. But for piece of mind stronger is worth it.

I've had a 300lb load weight ratchet strap break on me.. And it was only holding 2 dirtbikes - a 125 and an 85 - along with another strap..

Coulda been a faulty strap or something, but none the less, it broke.
