Are there any wear indicators on teh stock qualifiers? Even brand new the grooves taper down to no depth at the center, so how do you know when you need new tires?

2nd question...I adjusted the slack in the chain and did my best to make the adjusters even, I cut a template to compare the distance from the back of the swing to the adjuster and checked it against the other side, even double checked with a tape measure from the reapr spools to the adjsuter, everything checked, but noticed after a quick highway ride that the tire had small shavings all over the center of the tire which werent there before the chain adjustment, is that normal, the bike tracks fine, straight with no hands.

Whats the best way to measure to real be accurate when setting the adjusters?

Thanks

Measure from the swingarm pivot to the rear axl. I remember seeing a tool for this in Sport Rider one time. Basicly you could use 2 wood dowls that fit through swingarm pivot bolt and rear axl bolt.
