I hope you haven't bought the new stator yet, i saw your post yestarday but could not post until i was signed up. unplug your ignition rectifier and i bet you will have one burnt connection. happened to me and i looked into the stator and all that other good stuff until i found the burnt connection. all i did was use my pocket knife and scratch the inside of the plug. it got me home, then i used a small file to rough it up and di-electric grease then plugged it back together. no problems in over a year. if this doesn't help un plug your stator and use a multi meter to check it. they are way too expensive to buy if you dont need one. hope this helps out
