Ridesmart says: "Brake lighting must be disabled by removing fuses, or other methods to prevent activation of the light."

my buddy has a 2012 R6, and is wondering about the fuse thing... if, being a newer bike, it will complicate the electrical system with his ECU.

I need to figure out the same i suppose for my 2007 ZX6R... will the blue painter's tape over it suffice??

Tape is required regardless so the plastic doesn't shatter all over the race track.

Not according to the trackday providers technical requirements listed here: http://www.ridesmart.info/index.php?page=req.bike

You are thinking of glass. Glass needs to be taped.

EDIT: Actually, it says indicator lenses must be taped. At first I assumed they meant turn signals. But I guess you could argue that the brake light is indeed an indicator light.

reason why i wanted lights off is like you guys said, so lights wont become sticky from painters tape glue. k, long as it wont screw up his ecu (like unplugging bulbs like u said) should be g2g.
