I'm putting my new-to-me R6 on the track. Have you all had better luck with aluminum or nylon engine covers... both of them seem pretty soft?

neither one will do anything to protect your engine in a crash to be perfectly honest. if you want to pick the bike up and continue replace the covers with NRC covers or something from woodcraft cfm.
