so I had a little accident a few months back and finally got my new forks and stuff. my problem is that the upper triple is offset a bit and makes the forks offset and now the front wheel doesn't line up straight. is this something that is adjustable, or does the assembly need to be replaced?

You'll need to loosen the upper triple clamp to align the upper and lower. Easy way to do this is:

  • loosen upper clamp
  • install forks, tightening only the middle clamp bolts (leave the upper loose)
  • install front wheel, properly torquing axle
  • "wiggle" wheel/forks until the upper and lower triples, and front axle align
  • tighten upper clamp bolts to spec
  • verify everything by sight, and measure the distance between the upper and lower triple clamp, then measure the lower triple clamp to the center of the axle. All these measurements should be the same on both sides.
If this doesn't work, it is possible the forks and or triple clamps are bent.
