Hey guys I need some help. First off, I installed LED's to replace the front turn signals. Then i removed the license plate bracket off the back and replaced it with a tag holder. I took the wires for the rear turn signals, wrapped, taped them and left them into the rear compartment with nothing on the ends just electrical tape for each individual one. Now when i turn on the bike the front LED's seem to be shorting out. Can anyone help me with how to fix this?!! Thanks :toocool: :bow

Did you install LEDs as turn signals or as running lights? I've never seen that problem. I have aftermarket front signals, LED bar tag lights, and no rear turn signals (at the moment). But the front signals still work, so obviously there's enough resistance for them. Like Paytheon said, check the fuses. And did the front LEDs work fine before you undid the rear wires?

I'd say you need to add some resistance. theres not enough current to trigger the blnker relay into functioning. Resistors are cheap (.99$ at radioshack for 5). give it a try.

yeah they were working before i uninstalled the rear ones. I checked the fuses they're fine. I think i'll try to add some resistance tonight. I believe they are set up as running lights though cause when the bike is on they stay on and then when i use a turn signal it would blink at that point. :swordfigh

I just ran across that same problem. It's kinda funny because the right side will work but the left doesn't. I ended up disconnecting the left one earlier today and everything works fine now. Radioshack here I come!

Hmm, that's weird. So, when you say shorting out, does that mean they don't turn on at all, or just don't blink? Resistors would be my first choice. And like I said, I have no rear turn signals (my wires are wrapped up just like yours), and my front turn signals work just fine. But your bike might be a different year, so I don't know if there's any difference in wiring for different models.
