I just bought a shirt like this one. It was $25 so not too bad. I saw a lot of guys had them at the last track day. I will let you knoiw how it works under my jacket.

We wear them at our wrestling club to keep from getting ringworm. They are nice shirts, wick the sweat away well. Kind of overpriced for long sleeved version though. Mine cost about $45.

Does it have armor built in to it or is it just a spandex shirt?

It's a stretch shirt meant to keep your body warm and sweat off. Originally made for football players in cold weather.

And no there is no padding in the shirt. But the material is designed to keep your body at the right temperature. Now they have material for hot and cold climates.

i have a bunch of under armor stuff. i wear it for everything from football to snowboarding. it works great in hot weather and does keep you real warm if worn as a first layer in the winter.

UnderArmour (or whatever compression gear you like) is pretty key underneath the track suit. I literally cannot get my suit off of my shoulders if I'm not wearing it. That was fun to find out the first time I tried it on.
