Ok I'm just curious why Honda's run hotter than Yamaha's.

I have a R6 and my buddy have a 600RR. Whenever we appoarch a stoplight we check out each other water temps just to see whos running hotter, and it seems like he's always in the area of 224-226 at ideal and I'm at 214-217.

It could be many things.
Better airflow on the R6, better waterflow in the cylinder head and water jacket, etc.
Could have a different thermostat also.
I'm guessing. I really don't know.

what does the r6 04 top at 218 or something?

when I pull to a light, Im usualy around 170ish... but that kicks up to 216-ish as I sit there, and then that super fan kicks in. And its hot as hell here.

Doesn't help that Yamaha has a metal tank to keep the heat off of us

That is interesting, I wonder what my buddies 6R runs at...

I wonder if the under seat restricts heat escape.
