but really, i change mine more then i should, i NEVER let it get to black, all this viscosity is gone by then and i for one am not wanting my valves to be slipping around in there.
Its the mileage you should go by anyway.Not the color!Oil turns dark/blk after a few weeks just from the heat cycles.That doesnt necessarily means its toast.More so when regarding synthetics.
That could mean there is a malfunction in your computer system(ecu,sensors,etc).Your oils condition would have little/nothing to do with it.Was it the eng management light or the oil level light?
