Hey Guys. I purchased a 2001 R6. It only has 5001 miles on it. The original owner changed the fairings and removed all but the tank decals. I want to put the bike back to the way it looked from the factory but it seems like my online searches for photos bring up two different looking bikes.
One version of it has a black lower fairing and the other has the bottom half of the side fairings painted blue like the rest of the motorcycle. Can anyone tell me if they had two different styles or if not, which one of these two is the way the bike came stock from Yamaha?
Thank You!

TBH, I don’t remember what differences there were in the color schemes from year to year. Aside from the Champions Edition in 2001 (neither of those pictured is that one). The ones pictured above look like a 2001 and 2002, but I don’t know which is which year. If I had to guess, I’d say the all blue is the 2001. ¯\(ツ)

I have a 1999 R6, fairings are factory- colors and decals are like the 2nd pic- though my 99's tail light assembly looks a bit different. That said the 1st owner club raced it and put grip pads on the sides of the tank so those decals are missing on mine- I sure like the pads even though I'm not a racer.

Thank You for your reply. What you said seems to be the consensus answer that I've received from other people as well. I guess I will just have tp pick one or try to find a Yamaha brochure for the 2001 R6. Unfortunately the original owners manual doesn't help. Thank You again for your time.

Looking up Yamaha line up photos on mbike.com and a brochure for an 01 R6 I found, I’m pretty sure that the one with the black lower is the 2002 paint scheme.

Oh wow, thanks for taking the time to do that for me. I really appreciate it. That's great news. I'm fairly new to this forum, do you sell bike decals by any chance? Thank You again! 😊
