What is different between the professionally raced bikes and the bikes that are sold to the general public? Obviously the lack of a headlight and tires, but other than that? Suspension? Engine changes?

Just wondering...doesn't have to be R6 specific or even Yamaha specific..just in general.

Depends on the racing class, and in many cases, factory vs. privateer...

^ there are MANY different classes and MANY different regulations that all allow or request some mods that others dont vece versa etc.

Take AMA Supersport 600cc for example. Most of the mods are in the suspension to make the bike handle and offer responsive feedback to the riders demands. Also, full exhasut, custom mapping, race D.O.T. tires, slipper clutch {except Honda} and steering damper.
