After adjusting the valve clearance of my track bike I'm putting it back together.. all went well except I end up with a connector unconnected. The inside of the connector is quite clean so I suspect it used to be connected before I disassembled the bike.

It's this blue connector that is coming from the ignition coil harness:

Nope, I've got that one connected:

Also, the cable is too short to reach that plug.

Think you have the AIS plugged in with a wrong connector. This is from a 2009 R6 plug change thread but I think they are the same.

If the connector does not fit, try rotating the coils for more slack.

I can't figure out what that 6 wire plug is in the 2nd picture, but it is not the AIS. The AIS solenoid only has two wires (a Red/White and a Red/Brown wire).

It indeed belongs to the AIS, which I don't have anymore.

Why do you still have the hoses on your valve cover, if the AIS is removed?
