my buddy wears his gpx (the joe rockets) on the street everyday. they're REALLY good protection, and they breathe like a champ. :fact i picked up the "non-gauntlet style" for the street, but i feel naked without gauntlets one.

agreed. i had those joe rocket gpx gauntlets for a long time and thought they worked well for a cheap set of gloves. just replaced them this season with these:

of which i can personally vouch for their crash-worthiness. yeah, they ain't cheap, but they'll save your hands in a wreck. don't skimp here or you may be sorry...

I have the Knox as well. Great quality, but I think my palm is a little too long because the hand protection seems to not sit quite right when I flex my hand. Other than that, I can't complain.

That being said, I've switched to ACT Racing gloves a while back, no complaints. Check them out:

Knox Handroid ftw, love them super comfy. But I'd get gauntlets if I were u. When I first started riding I had short gloves and it's really not worth it when u can spend a few buck more and have alot more protection, I'd say go with either of the first 2 that AGG2001 posted

Buy for the worst crash you can possibly get in on the street and base it on how much you like being able to use your hands.

That will tell you what type of glove to buy and how much to spend.

People call me a poser and I just laugh, but I'm wearing Held Phantoms now and saving to buy the new Held Titans.

I like my hands operational. My hands are worth the $300 - $400 a GOOD set of gauntlet gloves cost.

Watch this....http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.co...Motorcycle+Gloves+from+Sportbiketrackgear.com

Van's crashed on the track in Held Phantoms like 4 times and they are BARELY worn.

good starter glove. you don't NEED a $300 glove to get better protection, but MOST of the $300 gloves DO offer more. i think HELD is a phenomenal brand (i too have the phantoms) and i've NEVER heard a bad thing about ANY held glove.

and fyi - i highsided with a set of joe rockets "top of the line" race gloves (speedmaster 7.0) and the left one exploded on impact. LUCKILY i rolled as soon as i hit the ground and didn't keep my hands on the ground. i make my living with my hands - and i like feeling boobs too much. so i don't skimp.

buy the BEST glove you can afford - even stretch a bit if you can (like $40 or so more) and that $120-150 range is WAY better than the $50 ones. :fact

I'd go with the Joe Rocket GPX gloves Agg recommended. I have the short ones and they are great. I was definitely considering getting these for my full length gloves, but at the end, I decided I wanted something different. If not, those would of been my pick, especially at that price. :yes

So is held considered one of the best brands?

I was thinking between these now after taking all your comments into consideration:
http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/Detail.bok?no=3096

or

http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/sport/motorcycle+gloves/fieldsheer_bullet+ii+race+gloves

or

http://www.motorcycle-superstore.co...earch&WT.MC_ID=54006&SiteId=10559669-3176205-

Im trying to get the best on a budget but if the held gloves truly are worth it and will last me atleast 2 years or more then yea. ill invest

i dont know anything about fieldsheer bullet though
