I have an '09 R6r, gauge cluster was damaged. Cruising eBay I see many '06-07 clusters for cheaper than the 08+ clusters. Shape and plug in the rear appear to be the same.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this swap and/or can anyone imagine any problems this would create? I'm worried about fitment and computer/ECU issues, although I don't think there will be any.

I tried to search, but was unable to yield the results I was looking for.

yes.. it works. There are no ecu or other issues. The 06 needle will sweep a tad faster though, and shows a red line higher than the bike will even rev, but otherwise, the gauge will plug right in and bolt right up to the fairing stay.

The 06-07 tach doesn't have the R6 at 6000 rpms. Just a side note to add to the thread

Funny, I noticed this when looking for a replacement. I'd be lying if I said that isn't a contributing factor!

Thanks to you both for the responses thus far.
