This is what i did to rivet my chain with out spending $60-$100 for any special tool or going to the stealership.
i purchased a 3 inch C clamp and a Flaring tool from Lowe's and made 1 tool out of the 2.
First thing you will need to do is remove the V shaped rivet tool from the Flaring clamp and the flat head from the C clamp, I used the metal peace that came with the flaring tool then placed it on the back of the bolt and wounded the bolt backwards that will force the parts out since they are pressed in from factory, the process should look something like this.
this is what the C clamp looks like after you remove the flat head
this is what the rivet tool looks like after you remove the v shape rivet head
and this is the end product
Please notice i found the rivet tool on sale since that particular model is discontinued for $1.02 and end up paying $9 or so for the end product.
