I made this out of some aircraft aluminum I got my hands on thanks to a friend that works for Boeing

I did my own as well. It's an 04 though. there are two holes in the undertail where took the stock liscence plate holder off from (big black ugly thing) the holes were EXACTLY the right width to mount my plate right into them. I also have the integrated tail lights/turn signals. And I did a www.boogey.com tnt light stick (white led's) for the liscence plate light, It works great, lot's of light.

Here's a pic.

I think it looks alot better when you're a little farther back off the bike. The picture is from underneath, and is like 3 feet away. Also, I have to get rid of the cotter pins, I just haven't found any screws that tighten up flush to the light, and look nice. (the cotter pins give it some charactor though)

I made mine out of the existing holes, just popped the tabs out and drilled out the plate holes a little to make them fit. worked out pretty well and i have had no cop trouble.

i used the metal piece off of the stock fender that holds the plate...and the metal that holds the reflectors for the turn signals. i'm planning on either going integrated so i can get rid of the ugly turns, or using the metal bracket i made and the license plate cover with built in turn signals

here's the first one, i made a bracket out of some extra metal i had laying around:

then without that metal bracket... (ignore the dirt  )

with the lights on, the plate lights shine straight back, i'm sure i'll get pulled over soon with them like this

sure enough, i got pulled over today :D the cop was behind me pulling onto the freeway, so i just took it easy. he rode behind me for about a 2 miles, then slowed down and moved to the far left lane...i guess he was trying to 'hide' to see if i'd take off and ride crazy. since i don't really ride crazy to begin with, i just stayed where i was going between 65-70 (cage in front of me)...then about 5 miles later, he came back onto my ass and pulled me over as i started to exit. he only gave me a warning and said that my plate needs to "follow the rules of gravity", as in it needs to hang straight down. i headed to cyclegear and picked up the new plate cover and then made somethin up to mount it.

sorry for the crappy pic, it's dark outside, but here it is with the right turn on:
