well would ya look at that i was wrong, you can adjust the idle on a FI bike :stupic

it's a gold colored screw above the clutch cover. if you have a 06 and up, they removed it.
but there still is a way to adjust it. it's a screw on the throttle bodies.

 

is this the same for a 05?

 

also, whats the ideal idle range?

 

Just looked up on the online manual. It says 1250-1350rpm's. Has to be when the bike is warmed up to operating temperature.

 

ya i had the same exact problem with my 04 r6... i just adjusted the idle a bit... its really easy.. you can do it without taking off any panels and you can do it by hand... i just turned it up to like 750-800 rpm range.. works great

 

um...i have an 08 R6s, didnt see the screw...anybody got a pic of it?

Just an FYI guys... If you have a Dyno tune and you adjust your idle your map will be a little screwed up... adjust the idle to where you like it either BEFORE or DURING the tune.

 

yup...... they make it lot easier than other bikes, normaly you need to do the idle mod, i normaly use a 600rr idle cable on my other bikes.

Finally did this to the 04. Very easy. Mine wants to idle around 2k.

Anything wrong with that? Still need to install pc3 and +4 timing mod.

Like what, dirty air filter, bad spark plugs? I have new spark plugs but havent wanted to take the bike apart to change them.
Brake fluid , lines, and pads next. Then suspension fluids. Maybe check valves.

Any suggestions?
