Even if your knowledge isn't bike related if you can tell me what you know about them it would help.
I decided during the rebuild that I wasn't going to use a muffle as you can see in my sig. to quite it down so I don't piss off my neighbors to much and for a little back pressure I put a 2" round 41/2" long baffle in the end of the headers where the mid pipe would typically bolt to(can't be seen in the picture).
here is the type of baffle I bought. I installed one Thursday evening and by Friday night it was broken. I’m on my second one now and I don't want to break it so I’m just making sure I’m using it properly.
here is my questions:
Should I wrap the baffle with muffler packing??
Also should I put a tip or extension on the headers and put the baffle in the tip or extension? The end of the baffle reaches the "Y" in the headers and I don't know if I should bring it away from the Y a little.
Any help would be appreciated.
