if you want to program the ecu you have to buy the race version of it. it aint cheap, around $800. it lets you program timming, fuel curves etc..

you cant change anything on the stock ecu.

a power commander also lets you adjust the fuel curve but thats it.(I think) I never wanted one. seems like a waste of money listening to a few guys that bought them and could not get any real power per $$ they spent on it. 1-4 hp for $300 is a waste.

 

Well all I want to do (because the dealer was able to do it) is reset the ECU to its default settings...

the dealer probably just reset the trouble codes. download the service manual and look at chapter 7. all of the trouble code functions are explained in that chapter.
