Ok I own one exo-400 and I like the overall quality of the helmet but its a bit small so my idea is to buy the exo-400 scar from cycle gear.com it's only 49.99? Yes I know you get what you pay for but I'm short on cash. Just picked up my full gauntlets, and a Joe rocket full armored jacket and back protector. Do you guys think this is a good idea/deal? I dont have 3-400 bucks to drop on a lid saving up to pay my registration, tags, plates and sales tax on my new 07 charcoal-black R6. Ideas opinions?

I would absolutely go for it! Especially if you already own one and you're happy with it now.
Scorpion used to make crap helmets, but have gotten quite a bit better in the past years. Motorcyclesuperstore has the Exo-400 for $65. And it's SNELL/DOT approved.

I like the Scorpion lids that have the built in slide-down visor. That thing is awesome!
Great features at a low price.

My wife has an EXO400 and loves it. She doesnt ride much though, or for very long at a time. They seems to be pretty well built, fit well and are comfortable. 50 bucks on a snell approved helmet is insane...do it.

Thanks Guy's, I will probally pick it up my options right now are use this exo-400 I currently own and it's a Large and I need a XL It presses on my head and cheeks and makes me feel light headed but I love the padding and it is DOT-Snell approved, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on it, my idea is ride with this helmet until I save up some cash and maybe get a high end lid?

I picked up an EXO 700. It's a solid helmet, was well worth the 150$ I spent on it. It's quiet, it has fog free visor, and the interior is very snug. It still smells new after several months of use. Edit: these are down to 99$ right now.

My co-worker picked up a Bell Star for 199$ on special closeout and it's very light. It is also very aerodynamic.

In addition, the new Scorpion EXO 500 has a sportier look, I think it's lighter (not sure) and it has a sunglasses like visor inside. For 199$.

Scorpion makes good products, IMO. Bell makes good products. In the end, it really doesn't matter on how much you spend. People have crashed in Scorpion helmets and they held up fine. My co-worker crashed in a Bell helmet and it held up great. Both are solid companies.

Like I said I will continue to think ANY Snell and DOT approved helmets are JUST as safe until one of you "experienced" riders can get me legit statistics that its not.

I can care less what YOUR experience was like. I trust these companies/government more than what your word says.

Id say get it... im sure alot can argue that shoe, arai, etc are better helmet :fact but if you can get a $50 helmet on sale which is normally worth $150(dont know, not sure dont care) id say get it. or you can get the exo-400 retail and maybe the others will feel better.. :thumbdown . hopefully you will never find out if it's really less quality than shoei or something.

Get the helmet bro. I don't know why people start telling u about arai's and stuff after u just said u don't have much cash. I rather u have a helmet than be the douche wearing only sunglasses saying he's saving for a $700 lid :sing

All you morons who pay 200+ for a helmet thats just as equal is a FAIL. I keep on asking for some facts that a 500 ****ing dollar helmet is just as safe as a 50dollar scorpion but none of you "amazing" know-it-alls can provide that.
