I have a title question. Here's the deal.
I bought a wrecked bike from a guy with title. The frame was ruined. He had an extra frame off of another wrecked bike. He didn't have the title from the extra frame. The spare frame has a clean VIN, it's just listed as destroyed by insurance. I built a bike around the spare frame using the first bike's engine/etc and bought plastics. I'd like to sell the bike. What are my options?
Do I have to sell the first ruined frame with title and just include the bike as "parts"? Or is there some other option? I'd rather not part it out. Plus, I figure that the bike would fetch around $2400 even with no title. I'd lose money if I went and bought a non VIN new frame and had Yam stamp it.
I'm in Oklahoma. I've heard that possibly you can get some kind of VIN plate assigned by the state. Any help appreciated. Thank you. - Shane
