Possibly the pin wasn't seated properly and not making a full contact with the other connector creating an arc. Try to repair the pin and use some dielectric compound on the connector. If that doesn't work, trace the wiring back to find the next possible cause of problems.

mine did the same thing. wiggle it a bit and it will work, then stop, then work again, right?

do the same thing i did. snip that wire from both plugs. now go to lowes or any other hardware store and get some small bullet connectors. crimp a male end on one side, a female on the other. plug together. electrical tape it up. good as new.

And, yes..that is exactly the symptoms I am experiencing as you described it. I will be heading out shortly to get those bullet connectors you mentioned. So, I don't need any heatshrink around that area? The electrical tape is good enough? Thanks again for all of your help!

 

Is there any specific size and type of bullet connectors I should be looking for? I know you said small ones, but any size in particular? I also noticed upon googling them that there are several different kinds (gold plated, nylon insulated, vinyl insulated, heat shrinked etc.)...

Jebova, what kind and size did you use?

 

i went to lowes, and i THINK they were the red ones. about 98% sure. pretty sure it was 16-22 gauge. if you can wait until tomorrow afternoon, I should be able to go to lowes and get a picture of what i used.

 

actually, i went out to the tool bag that i used to use and found a used connector.

i also put a picture of it next to a beer bottle cap for size reference
