so, i never got around to doing this... but can it be done without removing ANYTHING? just splicing/rerouting the wires?
what the keyless ignition? if so then yes, remove the side cover on the left and you will find the wires that run to the ignition switch. cut and extend as needed. if you had a question about something else well then i dunno as i didnt read back due to me being lazy.

i did this keyless ignition on my room mates bike and ill be doing it to mine this weekend, ill post some pics up. :toocool:

crazy scary how easy it is. 4 wires and you're done. probably do it again within 5 minutes if i wanted to do a clean job.

i'm worried about the first version... kinda seems like a lot of wiring. :dunno:
I'm thinking the same thing. The first version with that wiring diagram is kinda confusing. Isn't it as simple as just taking off the four wires from the regular ignition, then hooking them up to the new switch in the right spots? Or do I have to get into the kill switch and starter wiring as well?

its just as simple as hooking up a new switch really. ill be starting mine tomorrow and ill get pics up along the way

That's what I figured
i did it to my friends r6 and you simply flick the switch then just hit the red switch on the right like normal. the key just controls the power to the acc and fuel pump. the starter is controlled by the little red kill switch. its been a while since ive done it but im pretty sure thats correct lol

I think I'm gonna try it tonight or tomorrow. Anybody know where to find those wire connectors at that hook the ignition into the main harness? I don't want to cut into mine

Well I want to be able to sell my ignition all in one piece so whoever buys it just has to plug it in. And I don't wanna cut into the harness cuz I don't know if I'm gonna keep that one or get a race harness

ah well ill be tearing into mine tomorrow so if you want i can take pics of it for you or i could just pm you my cell and you can text me if you have any questions. ill try to trace the wire back to the connector for you. it would make for a cleaner process, i already busted my ignition cyl off as the tumblers in it broke and i needed to move my bike in a hurry one morning HAHA

Well that's the thing. I already have it torn apart. I have the connectors sitting right next to me. It's just a matter of finding someone that sells these things. The local dealer doesn't. :(

can you get me a pic of what you want?? ill just chop it off mine and mail it to you if i can. ill be re wiring most of my set up. as im relocating the switch to the rear sub frame of the bike so its more hidden as my bike sits outside everyday lol.

also if i cant get something off my bike for you im sure i can find something here at my shop to make work out of two corresponding plugs. i have a couple total loss cars here i can pull a part off of to make work, just need a pic of what youre looking for

Yup. I actually have a pic on my phone. I'll PM you my number. Also... Anybody know what gauge wire the two different sizes are? I searched the thread and everyone just says "use the same gauge wire"... What gauge is that? :dunce:
PM comin your way!

when i wired up a new switch for my buddy i just used some wire i had laying around. it was monster brand speaker wire for a car lol works fine months later.
:werd The old man used up all of our wire we had layin around. So I've gotta buy some anyway. I figured I'd do this bad boy right! :)
