got all my goodies... will be working on shelving for the house and garage in a bit, then that later today. :D wish me luck.
Luck! Can you take pics of the holes that have to be drilled out? Since this is the "hardest" part of the mod, pics of this step would be helpful :cheers

One small concern since the red safety cover is always up, will there be a possibility that it will accidentally flick down causing the battery to shut off during a race?
A) What race are you talking about?
B) There's a pretty heavy spring in there so it's not just gonna flip up or flip down without doing it on purpose. Plus it's behind the windscreen.

it's not hard... took me about 3 minutes.

the hardest part was when i realized the pvc IS NOT 1.25" plug and cap. it's a freaking 1" plug and cap - and so i then had to modify the corners of my switch and the inside of the smaller cap b/c it wouldn't fit. i'm just waiting for the paint to dry, but everything is done... just need to put it back together.

light up blue toggle switch. PIMP. :fact

knew a guy that did this on his sportster rat bike, ignition switch was keyless and the starter button was just a peice of wire that bypassed the relay. everything was "hidden" so he never had any problems...plus it a POS early evo.

Sub'd to do mine during my track build! Thanks for the write up... Wish there was more pics... :(

i'm lost... between the lack of exact wiring pictures, and that crazy electrical diagram that luke did, i don't know what "two little wires" are getting put together permanently. Nor do i understand what you have a blue wire just hanging around for. i want some more "look at how the wiring works" pictures.

and i'm heading in to town for a few things at lowes anyways, so i figured i'd buy these things while i was out anyways. radio shack is just next door. :)

So you don't need an explanation then?

In for Jess's accidental shut off at 100+MPH.

nah. but i got it. i went to bed thinking about why it was "galling" (or so it felt like that) and remembered that i didn't put any teflon on there. FINALLY was able to get it off, added the teflon to the trhreads, and voila. went on. wasn't easy, but i got it. had to go ghetto on it though, and do some touch-up spraying after it was installed. :| oh well... it's a track bike.

and thanks alot btw... now that i don't have a key, i can't be carrying one for the gas cap. so i have to spend money on a cap and a new set of grips - for fun. ;)
