wow i just bought a head from mjs last week...wtf everytime i go to buy something i find it used a week later wtf

Will it fit an 08-09?

 

interested if u still got them it says there for the r6r whats the differance from the gen 1

 

MJS headers are OEM with a cat delete, also powder coated. Gen one are true 06-09 Headers and will fit with race plastics. Gen two are R6S headers modded to fit with a cat delete, powdercoated as well, BUT do NOT fit race plastics. They say with a BMC filter, good oil and their full kit it can put down 7.1hp on the dyno. I doubt it but thats the response I got from MJS. They both put down the same HP numbers but only the Gen one will fit race plastics, so if you have no intention of racing your bike then this may be a cheap option for you to delete your cat. Remember these are not tuned headers, just OEM modded ones. Also graves full system map with the gen 2 and the akra full system map with the gen 1 if you are going to run a PC.

yea i knew most of that except why it said r so r would just be the plstics i dont have the s just the r6 with stock plastics so does that just mean i need the gen 1 or i can get the gen 2 that is my prob i might just call mjs

I stated this twice, they just do not fit race plastics....

 

spoke wit mike from mjs, told me it does but snug fit.

 

He must have told you the melting issues and bubbling paint problems as well. Just be cause they "Can" fit doesn't mean they where meant for it. So again the Gen 2 are not for race plastics. I have an e-mail I can post up if you want or you can all go to the webage and the 3rd page back in the Q&A's section he states this.....

 

thus a snug fit. if someone wanted to, they could do it. But not that they CANT. is it the best choice? probably not. i have a friend that has the gen 2 with race plastic, doesn't bother him but that's his choice to make. Also, the post on the faq you are referring to was posted by a friend of mine when I told him to check out the headers after I got mine so I already know about these issues.

 

Man you are dense, AGAIN they are not meant for race plastics. I was just raising this point so the buyer would be aware of these issues while you are no help. Everything I have stated stands true, I have also stated what maps to run with each system. So please stop this pissing match, headers are sold already, who ever bought them post up how they sound and what pipe you are running :YEA
