Never having ridden on the track, how is the air temperature relevant to track riding? Do trackers even have air temp sensors? :dunce:

 

You would already know the answer if you've started the bike....

If the sensor is missing it will throw a code.

 

I get code 22 but the bike still starts. My question is can I ride the bike with out it? Or will it hurt the bike?

 

The ECU uses this sensor as part of its fuel adjustment formula. The ECU will go to a default temperature, so you can ride the bike, but your fueling won't be 100% correct for the conditions you are actually in.

so where is it located?? attached on the fairings???

No it's attached to the little box in front of the cluster and that is attached to the fairings.

 

It's kind of up in the ram air intake if I remember correctly.
