If so, how long did it take you? What did you switch to to cure the angst? Needless to say it's been about 3 1/2 years with the r6 and I think I'm at that point. Maybe a cbr1000 next summer?

I've had my 09 R6 since February. I've done all the mods to it in my signature, but feel like the only thing missing is another 400cc's. After watching the R6 on NOS video it kinda gave me a hard on to do that mod, but I don't wanna worry that something might blow up. I'm not exactly "bored" of my R6 just want some more of something I guess you can say. GTV383 said it right though, I wish it went a little faster on the straightaway's, but when it comes to the twisties, you can have so much fun on the R6 just tearin' it up. I love ridin' don't get me wrong and I love goin out on group rides with the fellas whether it's for a ride downtown or going through the twisties. Maybe when I leave the Island and find a track I will find that cure!

like most have said, a 600cc bike is a tad boring in a straight line (when you weigh 235), but damn all that is forgotten in the twisties/track...and i've heard the exact opposite bout liter bikes because they can just sit in 1 gear the entire time in some twisties

i want a liter bike for just riding around town, commuting...

i have an R1 and an R6, i thought the same thing last year. i bought it and i would rather be riding the R6 all day long. not that its not fun and a great bike, i just get the ride the R6 more. meaning you can beat it up a bit and have more fun. i take the r6 to the track, and that is by far the BEST thing you can ever do on 2 wheels. give it a shot. i live further north then you and ive been down to NJMP, its not that far. find a pick up truck and make it happen. or buy my r1

I'm going to pick up a 2010 R1 in the next couple of months. I will be keeping the R6 because I love how it corners, but I'm tired of the liter bikes pulling away at the end of the straights on the track. On some tracks there's just no keeping up with the liter bike on an R6. With that said, there are tracks that suit the R6 very well, Thunderhill comes to mind, because the track is extremely technical. Eitherway I got the green light to get another bike....R1.

what.....

lenny hale did a 1.50.xxx on a 600 production bike at t-hill. im pretty sure you can keep up with liters, if not smash them. also, t-hill is not very technical... 1k's have a huge advantage at t-hill b/c of all the straight away's. but there still is no reason why you can't keep up with them...

this is my 2nd r6 I love'em but around here where I am from there ain't really anywhere to push it to the limit so it gets boring all my buddies decided to move away fro college so I only have a few friends that come out every so often so I am just selling mine and probly move for college

i am def not bored with my R6, but i do get the urge every now and then to get an R1. my R6 has plenty of power for me in most cases and i also just love how it corners, but R1s just facinate me and i would love to have that torque, every once in awhile. i cant picture letting the R6 go tho, i love it.

no, i STILL like to sit and stare at mine... whether she's in street attire or track attire. she fine! and still a blast to ride. i know there's so much left in that bike that i haven't been able to get to yet, that it makes me wanna go ride her at the track harder and faster. next is new tires, so i can do just that.

and try modding yours if you're bored.

edit: and this is my 4th bike in the last 10 years (second supersport)

my 6 is very new (bought her in may) but i must say, i love that thing more than i ever imagined. i hate commuting to work in vegas. since i got the 6, i've only driven the cage to work 5 times in almost 4 months. i ride everyday, and when i get home i want to ride more. i will eventually hit the track after a couple upgrades, but for now, ill ride that thing anywhere, anytime

Not bored yet....i've barely tapped my 6's potential. Mostly used for commuting with the occasional weekend warrior stuff. (thats what happens when you have 2 kids and pregnant wife) As another member said....i also sit and stare at my 6. She gets a thorough cleaning after every ride because she's been a bad/dirty girl. (it might be my OCD kicking in).

I've had my 6 since 2007. I still get the butterflies. I love my 6.

Best purchase evar!!!!!

Every once in a while i wish I had an R1 or a CBR1000, or better yet a Ducati or something like that, but its mainly when im commuting or doing highway. Then I take it past 10,000rpm and remember that this bike is fast as crap.

Im also nowhere near to the riding potential of the R6, so you know what, im good. I love my bike.

Ive considered getting a liter bike just for that +50hp, but with that said, I have a delima....I cant put that extra 50hp down, so my 6 is perfect in all accounts, even with the stock pipe (+GYTR slip on) I cant keep the front end down in first and second...even third gear is REAL light up front (basically skipping the front tire) . Rider weighs 135. Ive ridden a few different liter bikes and when I twist the trottle on those (even leaning on the tank as far as I can), I cant keep the front end down for the life of me. Now it maybe just me, but Im all about usable power.

Plus, the sound of our 600cc motors at 16.5k is just music to my ears :hump. And after 20,xxx miles in one year on my bike, every time Im at or above 13k and the R6 power band kicks in.....my heart gets to pumpin somthin feirce...So I think if that kinda butterflies hasnt gone away by now, its probably not going to...

And like a few others have said...when I go into my garage (especially after a good wash and detail) I stare at my 6 in awe and wonder how I can have this much lust after such a dead sexy machine.

But Id say if you feel like you need to jump into a liter bike, do it....but see if you can keep your 6 as well, cause youre going to miss her when it comes time to play in the twisties...

I'm all about doing some track days, but when talking about everyday riding I'm still gonna be bored. The potential of any crotch rocket is up there, but I have this urge that's not currently being satisfied. Perhaps it's the lack of torque and low end, but I want that throw like used to feel.

Probait- I get where your coming from. I've had my R6 since 2007 and have put a little over 20,000 miles so far. I would be happy with it if there were some kind of twisty roads around here. But it's basically flat for about 150 miles in any direction. (and after that 150 you just drop down a hill and then it's flat again) I'm starting to consider a ZX-14 since it's a straight-a-way killer. There is one at the dealership here for $7,500. It's a 2006 with 2000 miles. I'm trying to wait til this winter when i graduate school to go buy it. But i will also keep my R6 just in case the opportunity comes up to play with the twisties.

3 years is about my average for when I start to get a bit bored with a bike. Then I start to look for something different....maybe a twin, or a triple, or a single. Or maybe keep the first bike and buy another one...something different, like a touring bike, or build a streetfighter or bobber. Gotta keep it interesting.

I go through bikes often enough to make my wife wonder how long I'll be keeping her around. :*tongue

YEA BOI get the zx14... i think all you need is a shot of epinephrine and your good to go... because each one has a drawback, and anything you try to ride will not give you a rush at some point...

But since you wanna live your life like on crank.... Epinephrine it dude! best feeling in the world... imagine falling off a plane without having a parachute. now imagine it while laying in bed... and you just get the feeling. you will have a rush sitting on your couch, and you will be like R6 is for pussies!
